Did you ever feel like you were just rolling through the motions of life? You start your year off with grand plans in mind and then, before you know it, it's Christmas time again. This is the life that we wanted to get away from.
I don't think we will ever forget the day when we were sitting in our living room talking to Elle's Dad about his upcoming retirement. We were talking about what they would do when they retire. There was discussion about travelling Australia. Elle and I were mesmerised by the idea of travelling Australia and being able to enjoy the experience with our boys whilst they still want to be around us, we were always told this doesn't last forever.
So we decided to go all in... We sold everything, bought a caravan, left our jobs and embarked on the craiest adventure of our life. We planned to take 52 weeks away from our everyday life to experience the great outdoors and all it had to offer.
Elle and I have been married for 10 years. Elle is a qualified Primary School Teacher and I am a detective with the WA Police. Yes that’s right, your stereotypical couple, a cop and a teacher.
We are lucky enough to have three beautiful boys. Bryan is our eldest, being six years old followed by Alec who is four and finally William who is two. Whilst on the road we will be homeschooling our boys. It is our opinion, that the experiences that our boys will have on this trip and the bonds they will develop between each other, will be something that will positively impact the rest of their life.
